2014 was one of the best years in terms of events relating to safety and health at work, with the XX World Congress on Safety and Health at Work as the main event.
2015 looks like it is also going to feature a healthy number of congresses, and although it is too soon to provide details for all the forecast events, we shall highlight those we believe have the greatest impact at a global level:
United Arab Emirates: Intersec
To be held: Dubai, 18, 19 and 20 January
Organized by Messe Frankfurt.
Main themes: Organized by the Frankfurt Fair, it is one of the most important fairs in the sector of safety and health, personal safety and protection against fire.
Holland: Congress Industrial Safety
To be held: Utrech, 29 January
Organized by Into Industry.
Main themes: Latest advances in the fields of machine safety, process safety, safety with regards to explosions, and all aspects of safety culture and safety-conscious behaviour.
Portugal: SHO 2015 – International Symposium on Occupational Safety and Hygiene
To be held: Braga, 12 and 13 February
Organized by the Portuguese Society for Occupational Safety and Hygiene (SPOSHO).
Main themes: Symposium co-organized by the School of Engineering of the University of Minho, Engineering Faculty of University of Porto, Faculty of Human Kinetics of the Technical University of Lisbon , the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), and the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft); an opportunity to hear about the latest academic research regarding safety and health at work.
United Kingdom: Health and well-being at Work
To be held: Birmingham, 3 and 4 March
Organized by Sterling Events
Main themes: This is the ninth edition of this congress which covers health and well-being at work, and how to improve the health and well-being of older people in the workplace.
Panama: CISAE 2015
To be held: City of Panama, 18, 19 and20 March
Organized by Proyseg Panama.
Main themes: Current issues regarding work safety.
Cuba: V International Symposium on Occupational Health
To be held: Havana, 21 and 22 April
Organized by INSAT, National Institute of Health for Workers
Main themes: The central theme is ‘Ageing, work and health’. The event also includes objectives such as laying down strategies for facing the challenges of the millennium in order to improve the quality of life for workers, presenting the results of scientific research carried out within the speciality, showing achievements in both pre and post-graduate training, and exchanging ideas regarding the possibilities of collaboration in areas such as research, services, and the training of human capital.
France: Chemical risk: innovative methods and techniques
To be held: Nyon, 8,9 and 10 of April
Organized by the French Institute for Research and Security (INRS) in association with the Partnership for European Research in Occupational Safety and Health (PEROSH).
Main themes: It will mainly focus on the innovative and original nature of methods dedicated to the evaluation or reduction of chemical risk.
South Africa: A-OSH EXPO 2015
To be held: Johannesburg, 12, 13 and 14 May
Organized by OSH Expo.
Main themes: The OSH EXPO joins up with the SECUREX South Africa fair. This is the most important African occupational safety and health event, covering current issues and featuring major global exhibitors operating in Africa.
To be held: Toulouse, 9, 10 and 11 of July
Organized by Prevéntica.
Main themes: Prevéntica is the safety and health fair in France. It is an itinerant fair which is held twice a year in different cities.
United Kingdom: Safety & Health Expo
To be held: London, 16, 17 and 18 of June
Organized by OSH Global.
Main themes: One of the main global OSH exhibitions. Also celebrating Safety and Health at Work Week, in which you can hear top world experts present their papers.
